Two school districts are piloting the Delaware Performance Appraisal System for administrators. The two districts involved in the pilot are Appoquinimink School District in New Castle County and the Caesar Rodney School District in the Capital School District. The pilot will run from August 2005 through June 2007. An outside evaluator will monitor the pilot and provide recommendations to the Department of Education before statewide implementation.

Training for the school districts took place in July and August of 2006. School leaders were trained by the Delaware Department of Education on the four elements of the evaluation tool. Elements include: The Delaware School Leader Standards; Personal Goals; the School/District Improvement Plan; and Measures of Student Improvement. Districts administrators were provided a technical assistance manual for reference. Forms used to collect data can be located on the Department of Education website at www.doe.k12.de.us/dpasii/
